Child Abuse Prevention Month Local Events


Prevent Child Abuse Florida and the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families are pleased to provide you with a Community Resource Packet.

The Community Resource Packet contains an Advocate Resource Booklet, a Parent Resource Booklet and a poster promoting the toll-free Florida Parent Helpline, 1-800-FLA-LOVE. Full packets are geared toward agencies serving children and families that want to promote the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Packets can also be effective for volunteers in the community that want to be involved in prevention efforts.

The Advocate Resource Booklet includes information for local agencies to help plan campaign activities in April. The booklet is available in English and Spanish. The following tip sheets are included:

    The cover of the Parent Resource Booklet features the Berenstain Bears, the official spokesbears for Prevent Child Abuse America. The content provides the most up to date information on child development and keeping kids safe. National, state and local telephone and internet resources for family support are located within the guide. The booklet is available in English and Spanish.     The poster promoting the Florida Parent Helpline is included with all packets and is dual sided in English and Spanish with tear off tabs at the bottom. The poster encourages parents and caregivers to call the Florida Parent Helpline for child development information, parenting tips and resources in their community.
