Each April Prevent Child Abuse Florida launches the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign to emphasize the important role individuals, businesses, government agencies and community and faith-based organizations play in healthy child, family and community development. Despite some difficulties with the supply of pinwheels, Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) month was an overall success. The month was packed with events and activities that help strengthen families and educate communities. It was a pleasure to be able to attend the various events and get to know the communities you serve all year long. Thank you for all your work!
The Circle of Parents Train the Trainer workshop will be held on May 31-June 2 in Richmond, Virginia. This training will be an excellent opportunity to meet and network with other Circle of Parents state chapters and exchange training tips and best practices. My hope is to enhance my skills through this experience and strengthen my ability to support the Circle of Parents groups throughout our state.
